The guideline for the development of World Heritage package tours is a tool to enhance sustainable tourism in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Destination. The guidelines were developed as a pilot project for the Lower Saxon region as an exampe to formulate concrete guidance how the World Heritage status can be applied by tourism stakeholders. [more]

Tourism and nature conservation strengthen collaboration in the Wadden Sea World Heritage

At a one-day final project conference in Hamburg on 12 May 2015, representatives of the three Wadden Sea states, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands as well as stakeholders from the business and conservation communities discussed the results of the transnational PROWAD project and explored the possibility of continuing this collaboration in the future. PROWAD Final Conference in Hamburg on 12 May

The final conference of the PROWAD project give participants and key stakeholders from around the Dutch-German-Danish Wadden Sea the opportunity to share experiences and initiatives. It is envisaged to encourage future networks and upcoming project participants. [more]

Call for Tender “Video interviews: best practice examples of sustainable tourism”

The video case studies (2 min.) should present concrete ideas and innovations across the three countries presented in an inspiring way, to motivate other people to improve sustainability in their businesses and engage with World Heritage and its protection. [more]

PROWAD at ITB 2015 - the world's leading tourism fair

For the first time, the Wadden Sea World Heritage was jointly presented by all three countries at this year's ITB Berlin, the world’s leading tourism fair, held from 4-8 March 2015. We were represented with a booth and a large photo exhibition in the sustainable tourism hall, as well as at panel discussions and stage presentations. In addition, every day one of the various partners presented examples of how World Heritage can be experienced in their region. [more]

The PROWAD Project at the ITB in Berlin. The Wadden Sea World Heritage and PROWAD will participate at the world´s leading travel trade show in Hall 4.1.b. “Adventure Travel & Responsible Tourism” which is an international forum for sustainable tourism at the ITB.
