PROWAD presentation at the 12th German-Russian "Environment Days" in Kaliningrad, 22.-23. October 2015

PROWAD will present its results at the workshop “Tourism and conservation - methods and examples of international cooperation in the protection of biodiversity”.

Since 2000 the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) lead various projects to improve environmental protection in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. Accompanying the project-related cooperation are the so-called "German-Russian Environment Days" in Kaliningrad.

As part of this year's Environment Days will Protected Area Managers and tourism experts from Russia, Lithuania and Germany share their experiences and discuss current environmental issues.

The transnational project “PROWAD” will present its results at the workshop “Tourism and conservation - methods and examples of international cooperation in the protection of biodiversity”.

The project was selected as an example how a transnational cooperation can successfully contribute to a sustainable and well balanced development in a region like the Wadden Sea, an UNESCO World Heritage site since 2009.
